Anapolis in numbers
With a total area of 1.078 square kilometers, in an average altitude of 1.017 meters above sea level, located in the middle region of Central High Plain of Brazil (54 kilometers of distance from Goiania and 140 from Brasilia), the Municipality of Anapolis has the second largest GNP (Gross National Product) of Goias, only loosing to the Goiania the Capital. In 2004 the numbers on IBGE pointed the numbers of 2.260.000.000 (two billion and two hundred and sixty million reais).
It is estimated that the GNP from Anapolis today is close to three billion of reais. The population of Anapolis, with data from 2005, was estimated on 307.997 inhabitants, distributed in more than 300 neighborhoods, villages, small towns and four administrative districts. That population, today, is close to (350 thousand inhabitants. There are almost 180 thousand real estates (data from November of 2005 point out 166 thousand) built.

Economy and services
More than 2,400 commercial establishments and more than 800 industries are registered in the City Hall of Anapolis. There are 9 schools at a university level (offering all together, about 35 different courses) and 44 schools at a High School level. The financial movement of Anapolis is absorbed through 25 bank agencies and with about 30 ATM services points.

In taxes, Anapolis generated on the year of 2006, R$ 220 million of municipal taxes and close to R$ 160 million of state taxes. The city has about 24 hospital establishments, with the offering of 1,500 beds and close to 450 doctors.

Anapolis has approximately 160 thousand consumers of electricity (data of 2005 indicates 148.325 consumers). It is estimated on close to 80 thousand connections of drinking water (also data of 2005, indicated that the Municipality had 76 thousand connections) and close to 40 thousand connections on sanitary sewers, covering close to 40 percent of the population. More than 120 thousand vehicles of several models and sizes circulate through the streets of Anapolis.

Security
In Anapolis works: a Federal Police Station, 7 CIOP’s (Center of Police Operations); three specialized police stations from the Civil Police; a Regional Command of the Military Police (70 men) and a Battalion (Four BPM, with 380 men), besides two quarters of the Military Fireman.

Anápolis also has a representation in the National Army (War Shooting 11-001) and a Brazilian Air Base, headquarter of the Surveillance System of the Amazons (SIVAM) and of the First GDA (Group of Air Defense), which operates with supersonic airplanes (Mirage).
